I’ve been really inspired and challenged by a documentary I watched a few days ago called Fat Sick and Nearly Dead. If you haven’t watched it, I’d recommend it. Basically it’s about juicing fruits and vegies to pack your body full of nutrients and clean out all the processed foods and junk food you’ve been eating. The guy in the doco does a 60 juice fast. That is, juiced fruits and veg only for 60 days.
I’ve decided to give the juicing a go, but not fasting. I’ve been severely lacking in energy lately and juicing seems like a very good way to get more nutrients into my diet. So I’ll probably try to have one or two smoothies a day, mixed in with mostly healthy meals.
I had a carrot, tomato, banana, orange and capsicum smoothie this morning. A bit on the orange coloured side and REALLY thick, but not too bad.
My boyfriend Jack has conclusively decided to buy a juicer now (he struggled with the texture). Apart from that, thumbs up from me! :)
